Eskrow is a companion app for trading Pokémon in Pokémon HOME. It helps you catalog your
Pokémon, list what you have and want, get matched with other trainers, and chat to arrange
a trade. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it
with, and the choices you have.
Eskrow is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by
Nintendo, The Pokémon Company, or Game Freak. "Pokémon" and "Pokémon HOME" are trademarks of
their respective owners.
Information we collect
Account information
Email address, when you sign in. You can sign in with Google or with an email and password.
A Google account identifier if you choose Google Sign-In.
An internal account ID we generate to identify your account.
Profile and activity
A display name (trainer name) you choose. This is shown publicly to other users.
Your trade reputation: counts of confirmed trades and positive or negative ratings.
A last active timestamp, shown to other users as a presence indicator (for example "active recently").
Your notification preferences and per-user block list.
Trade content you create
Your Pokémon inventory: details such as species, form, level, nature, ability, moves, and other attributes you add.
Screenshots from Pokémon HOME that you upload as proof of ownership. These may contain in-game information such as a trainer name and ID number.
Your listings and wishlist: which Pokémon you are offering and seeking. Active listings are public.
Your Pokémon HOME friend code, if you choose to save it. It is kept private to your account and is only revealed when you choose to send it in a chat.
Messages
Chat messages, images, and shared Pokémon you exchange with a trade partner. Chat is visible to the two participants in a trade thread.
Trades, ratings, and reports
Records of completed trades and the ratings you give or receive.
Reports you file about other users or messages, including the reported message and a small amount of surrounding chat context, which we capture as evidence for moderation.
Device and technical information
A push notification token for your device, if you enable notifications, so we can deliver alerts.
Crash and error diagnostics (such as an error message and technical stack trace) when the app encounters a problem, to help us fix bugs.
Basic technical data needed to operate the service securely, such as information used for rate limiting and abuse prevention.
How we use your information
To provide core features: cataloging your Pokémon, creating listings, matching you with trainers, and enabling chat.
To read the details from the Pokémon HOME screenshots you upload, so your inventory can be filled in for you.
To display your public profile (display name, reputation, presence) to other trainers.
To send notifications you have enabled.
To keep the service safe: screening uploaded images for inappropriate content, reviewing reports, and acting on abuse.
To diagnose crashes, prevent abuse, and improve the app.
Image processing and automated analysis
When you upload a Pokémon HOME screenshot, we send it to an image-safety service
to check that the image is not inappropriate, and to an AI processing provider
to read the Pokémon details from the image so we can fill in your inventory. Images you send in
chat are screened for inappropriate content before they are delivered. When you file a report,
the reported message text and a small amount of context may be sent to an AI processing provider
to help prioritize moderation. These providers process this data on our behalf to deliver these
features.
What other users can see
Your display name, reputation, and presence are visible to other users.
Your active listings (and any proof images attached to them) are publicly viewable in the trade feed.
People you chat with can see your messages and anything you choose to share, including your friend code if you send it.
Your inventory, wishlist, saved friend code, email, and block list are private to your account unless you choose to share or list them.
